Anyone Can Build a Custom Computer P7

Now that we have the CPU selection down it is time to move on to the memory. We will refer back to the motherboard again to find the specifications of the memory required for the motherboard. The types of memory currently used for computers are:

  • 168-Pin SDRAM
  • 184-Pin DDR SDRAM
  • 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM
  • 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM

  • Each of these memory types also has different speeds associated with it. The motherboard specifications will let you know the speeds and type of memory to use with that particular motherboard. With the price of memory being very low at the moment it is always a good idea to order as much as the motherboard can hold without going over your budget. The more memory you put in your computer the better your computer will perform.
